Computable reported that the system developed by the Netherlands Tax Administration and mintBlue, which splits VAT off to the tax authority at the moment of payment, won the Ministry of Finance Innovation Award. The article is public confirmation of the award; it does not describe a production deployment.

The OECD included the Dutch tax-splitter model for VAT as a case (Box 4.4, pages 52 to 53) in Tax Administration 2025, the thirteenth edition of its Tax Administration Series. The box describes the model and attributes it to the Netherlands Tax Administration; it does not name mintBlue.

It is the first public joint innovation report with the Dutch tax administration and the strongest public artefact behind this work.
